Leandro de Souza, once known as Brazil’s most tattooed man, has stunned followers with a dramatic transformation after removing the tattoos that defined his appearance. His nearly full-body ink earned him national recognition, turning him into a fixture at tattoo expos and online communities. But now, Leandro is unrecognizable, sparking widespread admiration for his journey of change.
Born in Bagé, near the Uruguay border, Leandro got his first tattoo at 13, inspired by rock bands like Nirvana and Guns N’ Roses. By adulthood, 95% of his body was covered in tattoos, gaining him fame at events like the Santa Rosa International Tattoo Expo. Yet behind the public image, he battled addiction and even experienced homelessness.
During this challenging period, he embraced faith, which he credits for giving him the strength to turn his life around. The tattoo removal process has been both physically and emotionally demanding. Long laser sessions, sometimes lasting 40 minutes each, gradually erased the ink. Leandro has shared his progress on Instagram, where over half a million followers offer support and even help fund his treatments. “Dignity has been restored,” he said, emphasizing that his transformation goes beyond looks.

Leandro now speaks openly about his regrets, especially tattooing his face, and encourages others to consider the consequences of permanent decisions. Today, he focuses on providing for his 10-year-old son and supporting his mother. His story, once defined by extremes, has become one of resilience, faith, and second chances, inspiring people worldwide to embrace change.
